Sports Journal Apps Privacy Policy

Last updated: 13 August 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Tripwire Tech (“we”, “us”, or “our”) handles information in our sports journal apps (together, the “Apps”), including:

  • Curling Diary
  • Lawn Bowls Diary
  • Speed Puzzling Diary

Each App is a sport-specific training and competition journal. The same privacy practices apply across the Apps unless noted otherwise.

If you have questions, contact us at chelsea@tripwiretech.com.

Summary

  • Journal, practice, game, and related content you enter is stored on your device.
  • We do not operate an account system or host your diary content on our servers.
  • We do not use advertising, analytics, or tracking SDKs in the Apps.
  • We do not sell your personal information.
  • Optional features (Health sync, camera for QR import, subscriptions, backups you export, watch companions) are described below.

Information you provide in the App

When you use an App, you may enter or create information such as:

  • Profile details (for example, a display name chosen during onboarding)
  • Journal entries, ratings, notes, and reflections
  • Practice sessions, drills, practice templates, and diagrams
  • Scheduled practices and competitions (games / matches / events, depending on the App)
  • Goals and achievements
  • Venues and other organisational notes you choose to save
  • Optional links between journal entries and health workouts (when Health sync is enabled)

This information is stored locally on your device (for example, in an on-device database). We do not have access to that content unless you choose to send it to us yourself (for example, by emailing a backup or support material).

Information from device features and permissions

The Apps may request permissions only as needed for features you use.

Camera

Used only to scan practice template QR codes so you can import a shared practice. The Apps do not use the camera to upload photos of you or your surroundings to our servers.

Health (Apple Health / Health Connect)

If you connect Health (where offered, typically as a Pro feature), the App may read:

  • Step counts
  • Workout / exercise sessions

This data is copied into the App’s local database to show activity on Home and Insights and to help attach workout summaries to journal entries.

The Apps do not write health data back to Apple Health or Health Connect. You can disconnect Health and/or revoke permissions in your device settings at any time.

Notifications

The Apps may send local reminders you configure (for example, for scheduled practices or competitions). Reminder content is generated on your device and is not sent to our servers for delivery.

Apple Watch / Wear OS companions

Companion apps help you run or follow live practice sessions from your watch. Practice-related data exchanged between phone and watch stays within your devices and the platform’s companion communication mechanisms. We do not operate a separate cloud service that receives your practice content from the watch.

Purchases and subscriptions

Pro features are offered through Apple App Store and Google Play in-app purchases / subscriptions.

Purchase and subscription status are processed by Apple or Google. We do not receive your full payment card details. The Apps may store locally whether Pro access is active so features unlock correctly. Receipt validation and billing are handled by the platform stores under their own privacy policies.

Backups, export, and sharing

You may:

  • Create local backups on your device
  • Export / share a backup file (for example, via the system share sheet)
  • Restore from a backup file you select
  • Share or import practice templates (including via QR or files), where available

If you share a file with another person, app, or cloud service, that destination’s privacy practices apply. We do not receive shared backups or templates unless you deliberately send them to us.

Internet use

The Apps may use a network connection for features such as:

  • Completing or restoring in-app purchases / subscriptions with Apple or Google
  • Opening linked pages (for example, this Privacy Policy or Terms of Use) in a browser

The Apps are not designed to upload your journal or Health data to Tripwire Tech servers.

What we do not do

Unless this policy is updated, the Apps:

  • Do not require you to create an account with us
  • Do not use third-party advertising networks
  • Do not use third-party analytics or crash-reporting SDKs that profile you for marketing
  • Do not track you across other companies’ apps and websites for advertising
  • Do not sell personal information

Data retention and deletion

Because diary content is stored on your device:

  • It remains until you delete it in the App, clear the App’s data, or uninstall the App (subject to any copies you exported yourself).
  • Uninstalling an App typically removes its local database from that device.
  • Exported backups and shared files you created are under your control.

You can disconnect Health permissions and notification permissions in your device settings.

Data security

We design the Apps so your content stays on your device by default. You are responsible for protecting access to your device (passcode, biometrics, etc.) and for any files you export or share.

Children’s privacy

The Apps are not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us directly (for example, by email), contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

Third-party services

When you use platform features, their policies also apply, including:

Subscriptions are also subject to the applicable store terms. Our Apps link to Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (EULA) where required:

https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/

International users

The Apps store data on the device where you install them. If you contact us by email, your message will be received and processed by us in order to respond to your enquiry.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of an App after an update means you accept the revised policy. Material changes may also be reflected on:
